Grapple Saw

Grip, position and cut timber with your excavator.

Hold the timber.
Position the cut.

A BETENSH grapple saw combines timber gripping with a side-mounted chain saw for an excavator. It is for work that needs a log or timber piece held and positioned before cutting.

For timber handling or site clearance, consider what happens before and after each cut: access to the material, how the piece is gripped, and where it will be placed. These questions guide the attachment and machine choice.

Gripping and sawing
need room to work.

The grapple and side-mounted saw have separate working paths. The timber position, grip and available clearance all affect how a cut can be made.

Choose the working method for the timber’s size and condition and the excavator’s stability.

One attachment.
Two connected tasks.

Gripping, saw movement and hydraulic routing need to work together. The installation views show why hoses, connections and the mount should be considered as part of the complete setup.

Make maintenance information specific.

For a replacement chain, guide bar, fitting or grapple component, send photos of the installed assembly and its identification details. This helps a dealer or repair shop describe the part rather than relying on appearance alone.

For fleet and rental handover, identify the fitted configuration and follow its instructions for inspection, chain maintenance and hydraulic connections.

Choose around
the timber and machine.

Tell us the full model of your excavator, the required maximum grapple opening, the cutting diameter and the working conditions.
