A customer in Mexico required four Drum Cutters for excavators in two different size classes, including approximately 6-ton and 20-ton machines. The project began with one of the most important parts of attachment supply: confirming that each configuration would actually fit the intended excavator.


Fitment Before Production
For both machine sizes, mounting dimensions were checked before production. During verification of the 20-ton excavator, one measurement initially appeared inconsistent with the required attachment configuration.
After reviewing the information, it became clear that the dimension had been taken from the pin cover rather than from the actual pin. The customer was asked to measure the pin itself again. Once the correct dimensions were confirmed, the attachment configuration could be finalized before manufacturing began.
This was a small correction, but an important one. A measurement error discovered before production is far easier to solve than a fitment problem discovered after delivery.
Four Units Into Production
With the machine information confirmed, all four Drum Cutters moved into production. The units were prepared according to the two excavator configurations and then packed for delivery to Mexico. The application involved demanding rock-working conditions, making both fitment accuracy and attachment configuration important from the beginning of the project.

Field Commissioning Months Later
Several months after delivery, the customer contacted us again while commissioning one of the 6-ton Drum Cutters. During setup, the customer reported that the machine-side system required checking and sent a field image showing the Drum Cutter installed on the excavator.
The discussion therefore continued around the actual installation and machine condition rather than ending when the equipment left the factory. The customer later confirmed that the system check had been completed and that the issue had been resolved.
One Continuous Technical Process
The project involved four attachments, two excavator sizes and several stages of technical confirmation. But the important part was the continuity between those stages:
Machine dimensions → Fitment verification → Production → Delivery → Field commissioning
For excavator attachments, supplying the product is only one part of the process. Correct machine information before production and continued technical communication after delivery are equally important.
